Vegan
This simple recipe show you how to marinate tempeh rashers ready to put in a delicious breakfast sandwich!
1 slab of defrosted plain tempeh, sliced into rashers
½ tsp smoked paprika
2 cloves of garlic, crushed
2 tbsp shoyu or tamari soya sauce
1 tbsp tomato puree
1 tbsp cider vinegar
2 tbsp oil – olive or plain (eg rapeseed or other mild-tasting oil)
1. Steam the tempeh rashers for 5 minutes.
2. Make the marinade by mixing the rest of the ingredients together in a small bowl. Set aside.
3. Remove the rashers carefully from the steamer and allow them to cool. Coat the tempeh rashers with the marinade, using a pastry brush.
4. Heat the oil in the frying pan and fry the rashers on each side for a minute or two – until they’ve turned golden brown. Serve hot
